Pop star Katy Perry and five other women made history by participating in the first all-female spaceflight in over 60 years, launching aboard a Blue Origin rocket on Monday.

The crew took off from West Texas at 9:31 a.m. ET and experienced a brief period of weightlessness during their approximately 11-minute journey to the edge of space before safely returning to Earth.

The mission was a significant achievement for Jeff Bezos’ New Shepard launch vehicle, designed for space tourism.

The crew included notable figures such as Lauren Sanchez, Gayle King, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn.

After landing, Perry expressed her feelings of love and connection, while King shared that Perry sang “What a Wonderful World” during the flight.

Celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner, and Khloe Kardashian were present at the launch. This flight marked the first all-female mission since Valentina Tereshkova’s historic solo flight in 1963.
