Government pathologist Johansen Oduor has revealed that Eldoret based fashion designer Edwin Chiloba (Kiprotich) was Suffocated to death.
Speaking to the press at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret, he said the Deceased died of asphyxiation, a process where one gets deprived of oxygen. He added that he had coverings on his nose and mouth.
"From our findings, the late Edwin died out of asphyxia which is caused by smothering He had a piece of trouser tied around the nose and mouth. He had socks stuffed in his mouth. He had Cyanosis, when you look at his fingernails, they were bluish in colour which shows that he lacked oxygen when he died."
Oduor said they could not find any other injuries and added that they took more samples to ascertain whether he was possibly drugged before he was murdered, adding that his eyes were not gouged out as earlier results had stated.
The body of Edwin Chiloba was found stashed in a metallic box. A witness said a car dropped the box along Kipenyo-Katinga Road before speeding off.
Jackton Odhiambo who is believed to be Chiloba's lover was arrested and identified as the main suspect.
Odhiambo and the other four suspects are said to have assisted in moving, loading, and most likely dumping the metallic box containing Chiloba’s remains by the road.
